They'll Make A Fine Edition To My Collection

In the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamualaikum, peeps!!

For the last couple of days I've been listening to this incredible violinist.  She was a contestant in America's Got Talent.  She plays the violin, dances, does her own music and also some covers of some songs and soundtracks (And personally, I think she's hot XD )

*Jumps around in the living room, excited*

Hehe..Sorry about that.  Thanks to Maryam 'Aqilah, a good friend of mine, who introduced me to Lindsey.  We were skype-ing and she told me to check out this Epic Violin Girl on YouTube.....

So I did.  And at first I was like "she's great."  But I usually listen to songs that have a good head-banging choreography.  I'm more of a rock band kind of fan you know?  We The Kings, All Time Low and Mayday Parade etc.

Buuuut...I was actually intrigued by the way she dances and the way she plays the violin.  I usually hear those slow orchestra music on the violin but Ms. Stirling here mix it up a bit.

During her high school years, she sent a video to the Ellen DeGeneres show and told them that she'd like to play on the show.  The producers called her back and told her to learn some hip-hop moves.  In 2010, a producer from the reality show America's Got Talent invited her to become a contestant and so she did and she got into the 'Judges' Favourites' group.  She got into the top 48 but didn't pass after that stage of the competition.

Under the name "Lindseystomp" in reference to her first band name "Stomp On Melvin", she posted some videos on YouTube.  Her 1st was a live performance called "Violin Rock".  She gained popularity after America's Got Talent and had numerous songs, original compositions and also song covers.

My personal favourites are 'Spontaneous Me', 'Transcendence' and 'Crystallize'.  But hey, you guys might have your own opinions right?  So check out her YouTube channel right here.

You guys can also check out and like her Facebook page here and follow her on Twitter right here.  Trust me.  Even for a guy like me who loves rock music could actually fall in love with her music, you guys won't be disappointed.

;-)

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S : Just bought the bag for my racquet and tennis gear.  Am I Pumped?  Hell Yeah!!  XD

When A Door Closes, You Smash A Window With A Chair

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamualaikum, everybody!!

Almost exactly 24 hours ago, I got a text message from my little sister (adik angkat actually).

"Syauqi, yer lil sis dpt smbung kmb.  InsyaAllah in 2 years time she's off to ireland.  Alhamdulillah. :)"

After that, I called her straight away.  I was like..."Assalamualaikum!  Adik nyeeee!!! Congrats!!!!"  Haha!!  I was stoked and it wasn't even me who got the chance to go overseas.

In case some of you don't know this Sabreena is my little sister that I met during my high school days in MRSM Kuala Terengganu.  And even after her PMR which resulted in her going to MRSM Tun Ghafar Baba, we still remained close.  We contacted each other even till now.  After getting good results in her SPM he got an interview for MARA to go to Ireland few days ago.  She said it went well.  I guess it really did.  Cos she told me that the results of the interview will be told on the 1st of June.  But she got it on the 29th of May instead which by the way is the date I registered myself into UTMICKL.  She's THAT good you know?

Smart like a super-computer, modest as a person can be
For UPU she got into UIA (PJ).  Since she passed the interview, she won't be going there now I guess.  A good thing too.  But I guess I'll keep that to myself.  Hehe..

;-)

All I can say is...Congrats to you Sab!!  You deserve it!!  And see you next Tuesday!!

XD

By the way guys, do click on the link up there and check out her blog aites?

;-)

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S : A friend of mine sorta introduced me to this awesome violinist and judging by the way she performs, she's awesome.  Anybody knows who it is? ;-)

Game, Set, Match

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamualaikum, everyone!!

Well, yesterday was one of the most epic days of my life other than the time I went to Old Trafford.  I couldn't post it yesterday cos I was too damn tired.  So Alhamdulillah, I got to go to one of the places I wanted to go since I was 5...................

Hell yeah!!  Haha!!  I waited a long time you know??!!  It wasn't that hard to go there as I expected.  I bought the tickets to enter the museum only.  I didn't have enough money.

>_<"

But I don't care.  Wanna know why?  Cos it was down-right worth it..........

Federer's gold medal for doubles and Rafa's gold medal for singles during the last Olympic games  in Beijing

Tennis legend John McEnroe!!
Ok, it's just a projector image but close enough!
What the players' dressing room looks like now
Okay that was my tour of the museum.  After that I got the chance to go to the Center Court, where the finals of the championships are usually played.  The thing was, at my slot at 1.45, I was the only one.  So I guess it was me and Tamara, my Croatian tour guide.

The Center Court is only used for 2 weeks in a year and only for the Championships.  During the Wimbledon Championships, only other courts are used and Center Court as I said before is only used for the final.  In this year's case since the Olympic games are held in London, the Center Court will be used for 4 weeks.  Tamara explained everything about the court.  In that court, they have special seats for the royals of England where of course they watch it at a nice view.  Tamara showed me where everything was.  Where the T.V broadcasting team should be placed, where the players' family were seated and a whole lot of other stuff.......

The lines aren't drawn of course
Out of tradition, they haven't taken down the scores of the last match played there between Rafa and Nole

Final preparations till the Championships in June
In case any of you are wondering, yes they have tennis sessions for the public but mostly for those who are members.  I ain't surprised either.  Wimbledon Lawn Tennis is a big deal and it's a very prestigious tournament.  But even so, they can only play at other courts and not Center Court.  That's how classy the whole place is.

Tamara and I talked about how people say that it's a waste of time actually going to a match of any sport.  As in going to the stadium or arena just to see the sport even though you can just see it at home on T.V on Astro or Sky.  But trust me people, the atmosphere was just electric.  When I went there yesterday, I wasn't even playing but I was excited.

Well, I gotta contemplate on whether to go to some other places.  I'm a bit worn out actually but I gotta make these last few days count.

See you guys on the flips side!!

Spontaneous Me

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamualaikum, y'all!!

Well, today (Still Sunday in London) was all about my randomosity (<-----Is that even a word?) that I'm so very well-known for.  My family and I went to my dad's former classmate's house in Chelmsford, Essex.  Uncle Norman was in MTD (or RMC) with my dad during the 70's.  So we headed to his house and met his family there.

Uncle Norman has Irish blood by the way and his wife is a Malay.  And they have 2 sons, Zain and Zaki but only Zaki was at home........

We hung around in his house for a while and went to Hyland's House near the town center....

Later we went back to the house and had lunch.  But before all the things that I showed you just now, I asked Uncle Norman's wife if Anglia Ruskin University was near there and she said yes.  I told her that I have a friend there.  And guess what??  She told me to invite her for lunch!!

Haha!!  Yup.  My utter randomness has no bounds.  Baizura a.k.a Bai is an architecture student doing her degree in the university I said earlier.  She came with her mom cos her mom was visiting her and also coming back to Malaysia with her on the 4th of June.

We talked and chat.  She's a friend of a friend of mine.  So I guess I can classify her as my friend.  We had some laughs, lunch together and even talked about our experiences in Europe.  We talked about our schools and the good old days when things were much easier.  Well...Easier than now.  Alhamdulillah, everything went well.  And by the way, I got less than a week in London.  I've yet to go to a few more places.  And leaving Ariq will be a pain in the !@#$%(*&^...  But hey, all good things have an ending right?

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S : Gonna try to sleep early tonight.  Going to the Wimbledon Tennis Arena in less than 12 hours ;-D

Oh Well, Oh Well

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamualaikum, everybody!!

You know, I've been listening to this song lately.  It's a Mayday Parade song and it's taken from their latest album which is self-titled.....

It's been a while since I heard their songs.  They're a great band with awesome music.  Reading the amazing lyrics is one thing but when they put it in a song it's just bliss.  To me, they can really blend meaningful lyrics with rock.

Here's one of their songs and one of my favourites so far, "Oh Well, Oh Well"

~*~ ~*~ ~*~

When you're alone, do you think of me?
And my diamond ring's thrown out to sea.
And when you love, do you love for me?
Like harmony, a never ending dream.

Oh well, oh well.  I still hope for the best.
Say goodbye and send me off with a kiss farewell.
And i promise I'll be just as strong as I can be.
Maybe you could get some sleep tonight.

So here's your song.  It's twisting me.
I'd give anything to make you scream.
And I'll juts smile and make believe I don't feel a thing.
That doesn't work for me.

Oh well, oh well.  Guess I'll see you in hell.
There's a pretty little picture that's in my head.
And I'm starting to dream, changing colours while I sleep.
Maybe I'm just wasting time.

Sit still and listen to our soundtrack (Our soundtrack)
I'll tell you how I took one straight to the heart,
And it's not easy to talk about (Don't talk about)
So we all scream loud.

And that was it.
I had made it clean just across the street in my new wings.
So I'll just fly and hope that I remember the good times (The good times)
When it's done.

Oh well, oh well.  I can't live with myself
As I'm climbing through your window to get to your bed.
And I'll be what you need,
You can call me anything.
Just as long as we're still friends.

Sit still and listen to the soundtrack (Our soundtrack)
I'll tell you how I took one straight to the heart,
And it's not easy to talk about (Don't talk about)
So we all sing

Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh ohh-oh.

When she smiles, well it's got nothing to do with me.
I'm not the one who sings her to sleep.
And I've been talking to God asking for just a little help with you but it's hopeless.

It's not the first time but this one really carved it in.
Tell your new friends that they don't know you like I do.
It's over.  I wanna see you again.  I wanna feel it again.

Ohh, it's not the first time.  But this one really carved it in.
Tell your new friends that no one knows you like I do.
It's over.  I wanna see you again.  I wanna feel it again.

I'll keep you warm, safe in my arms.  'Till heaven calls, keep holding on.

~*~ ~*~ ~*~

Well that's the song.  Awesome tunes.  Click on the link up there to see the video (director's cut) and here for the acoustic version.  By the way, this song is by Mayday Parade and I do not own the lyrics

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S : The term 'talking to God' means praying while the term 'hopeless' means that the girl doesn't wish to compromise with the guyNo religious conflicts whatsoever in the song.

You got Hammered By The Hammer

In the name of Allah, Most gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamualaikum, everyone!!

Ok, I blabbed on Twitter about going to White Hart Lane.  But I overslept and woke up at 10 something.  I wanted to go a bit early cos from Crossharbour it takes about an hour to White Hart Lane.  So I changed it up a bit.  Instead of going to Spurs' homeground, I went to the Hammers'............

F.Y.I. Angah's place is West Ham United's territory.  So seeing people wearing the jerseys, having face-paint and the club's jester-hats on the tube during weekends ain't really a surprise.

There weren't many people though.  Obviously cos the season's over but come on.  I was at Old Trafford and the place was jumping.  Gotta look at the club too I guess.  The place was like a graveyard.  And even graveyards have people during daytime.  Here are some picts.....

I went around to see whether they had any other entrances or something.  But to no avail, I couldn't find any.  So I just decided to walk around......

The stadium is on the right but farther up.  The visitors' place was so far away..HARSH >___<"
Take your time sir :-D
He took his friggin' shirt off!  That's one of the reasons I love Malaysia.  Always prepared for summer! XD
A lot of the blocks had Muslim food, ergo Halal
Maybe it was suppose to be 'Ikan Fish Bar'? T___T"
There was a market near the Upton Park tube station.  Fresh stuff, clothes, accessories and all kinds off things.  It was damn packed.....

Well, I think that's it for now.  I gotta plan the other stuff I wanna visit and do.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S : I hope the English of our people don't become like this

T______T"

To Infinity....And Beyond!!

In the name of Allah, Most gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamualaikum, y'all!!

Well, I'm half recovered from what happened yesterday.  So I thought I wanna go to the places I said 2 posts ago.  So I started with the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum.  Both located near the Imperial college here in London.  I went to the Natural History Museum.  Here are the picts......

I love GOOOOOOLD!!
The coelacanth, thought to be extinct for a long time, it was found in the '30's in Brazil.  But NOW they're extinct.
The dodo bird! XD
The far right is the largest egg ever by the now-extinct elephant bird.
Hmmm..Sounds a bit like me O_o" Pffft
Superman will get a heart attack looking at this -___-"
Snakes!!!
Say cheese!!  @__@"
The whale shark can grow up to 12m in length O.o"
T-Rex!!
The one at the back's lucky they didn't have sexual harassment complaints >__<"
It was 2 something already so I asked this girl in a gift shop who happened to be a Muslim (a pretty one too *winkwink*).  She told that there was a faith room where I can solat.  The faith room is for all faiths.  So I went there but there was no place where I can take my wudhu'.  I went to the baby's changing room since the toilet was too crowded and went back to the faith room to solat.

In another place far from home and in search of knowledge there is always a way for Allah to let His Servants to their duties.  Subhan Allah

:'-)

Later I went to the Science Museum next door.

The 1st man in space, Russian man, Yuri Gagarin
Buzz Aldrin being photographed by Neil Armstrong during their mission in 1969
Buzz and Neil's shuttle than landed on the moon during their mission
A part of the moon some astronauts brought back.  That group brought back 384 kg of the moon's surface.
The 1st missile, the V2.  Hitler ordered his people to build it even though it was expensive.  London was one of the targets
Honestly, I didn't have time to cover the whole science museum.  I had to get back cos Kak Sha's friend invited my family to her house for dinner.

Anywho, I'll be going to the other places I mentioned before, Insya-Allah.  I'll keep you guys posted aite?

;-)

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S : This guy must've had a pretty tough time growing up with a family name like that....

HAHAHA!!!  XD
