Which Part of China? Uhmmm..Downtown

Assalamualaikum, y'all!!

Do you guys remember my post called "Laughter Is The Best Medicine" ?  Yeah..Haha!!  Russell Peters and Gabriel Iglesias are down right the best comedians of the decade.  HANDS DOWN...  No offense to the local comedians of course.

I just LOOOOVE making people laugh.  Haha!!  Especially my parents.  My "materials" for making people laugh is stand-up comedy.  It's the spontaneous words and one-liners that makes everybody crack up.  Haha!!  Lately I saw Gabriel's special called "I'm Not Fat I'm Fluffy" That guy's damn funny...And he's not fat..he's just fluffy.  Hahaha!!

Trust me, he can make you laugh.  If you ain't laughing I guess something's wrong with your funny bone...
Well, short post for today.  I got EFAS later..

See you guys on the flip side!!

P/S: The term "Serial killer" doesn't mean "pembunuh bijirin" in Malay...

Match Made In Heaven

Assalamualaikum, everybody!!

So this is it I guess.  I'm not much of a writer cos I'm not really good with words.  So letting me write a story is like giving my barely-2 years old nephew a rifle.  To those who don't actually know what that means, it means that the story I write might not be that good.  But hey, it's worth a shot right?  Without further a due, here's the story.  Enjoy........... ;-)

~*~

He loosened his tie around his neck with one hand while the other was on the steering wheel.  He liked how he looks when he wears a tie but hates that choking feeling he has wearing it.  Since the road was a bit of a crawl, he decided to turn up the radio a bit so that the traffic won't bore him to death.

Probably some people gawking at an accident, he thought.

Static was heard when he pressed the tune button on the radio.  Then he heard some techno song coming from it.  "Why in the friggin' world do they ever put this kind of music here?  It's all beeping but no singing," he muttered under his breathe.  He never liked techno.  Even during his high school days.  It's not that he hates it but it's just that to him, it's not music unless there are words in them.  He tuned and tuned and finally found his favourite station.

"Here at AR.fm, we got the traffic updates.  Good news and bad news of course.  Traffic on the PLUS Highway is looking clear and things are looking A-ok on the Johor causeway.  To those who are going back from work, I suggest you to NOT go on the Federal Highway as traffic is a bit heavy there.  A trailer tripped over but luckily, no casualties and only minor injuries.  Clean-up is on the works as we speak," the female voice on the radio said chirpily.  "Great.  Now she tells me," he said.  "That's all for the traffic updates for now.  For those who are ON the Federal Highway, there's a band that can keep you company with their no.1 hit.  Here's We The Kings with "Every Single Dollar" on AR.fm, your "home" for alternative rock."

Now this is more like it.  We The Kings has always been his favourite band.  Besides religion, his family and friends, music was also what helped him through his ups and downs during the college years.  And this song in particular is what helped him swoop his wife off her feet.

"With every single dollar,
I'll be sure to buy you flowers.
Cos money ain't no problem when love is free.
Oh, I'd trade in all my years,
To spend with you a single hour.
As long as you spend it with me."

After a day of stressful work, he really was looking forward to coming back home.  It's been 6 years already since he married the love of his life.  And the sight of his precious family is already enough to make him feel like the richest and luckiest guy in the world.  His lips broke into a smile at the thought of his 3 year-old daughter running across the living room to hug him when he comes home.

Today was a bit of an important thing cos he had to do a presentation on the acoustics for the new Istana Budaya.  Apparently something went wrong a few years back.  The ceiling was made of a material that seems to keep the bad vibrations in and the good vibrations out.  It's quite a wonder that no one noticed.  That was until Pinchas Zuckerman, world-renowned violinist, soloist and conductor, told the directors of Istana Budaya about it.  All in all, the presentation was good.

Alhamdulillah, he thought.

He just can't wait to return home.  Since it was a Thursday, he was fasting.  So was his wife.  He can't wait to taste the food his wife cooks.  Ayam masak merah.  His favourite..

~*~

Finally arriving, he parked his Chevy Camaro and took out the office stuff.  He walked to the front door of his house, smiling.  With only his family in his mind, he unlocked and opened the door.

"Assalamualaikum.  I'm back," he chimed in a playful tone.  "Papa!" was the only thing he could hear after locking the house door.  And just in time to catch his daughter when she jumped to him.

"Papa!  Family picture!," her daughter said, handing him a crayon-drawing of their family.
"Wow!  It looks great, dear!"  He meant it too.  It's amazing that at her age, she has hands and ideas like a female Picasso.  And English better than him when he was her age.

He carried her across the living room towards the kitchen.  Right in the middle of the living room, his 6 year-old son was sitting on the sofa, controller in hand and eyes on the T.V.  The sofa was quite far from the 40" LED T.V but his eyes was mere meters away.

"Hey there, kiddo!  I think you better back it up a bit or you might be eating carrots for the rest of your life," he joshed around, ruffling his son's hair.
"Ok, Papa," his son said, chuckling.

He walked to the kitchen and smelled something that made his heart pumped more blood than physically possible.  After that, his heart stopped immediately at the sight of the gift that Allah S.W.T gave him.

Right there in the middle of the kitchen, setting the table was his wife.  Elegant, beautiful and breath-taking as ever.  It was near maghrib and suppose to be dark but it was like the whole kitchen and house was lit with a million lights.  She was radiant and dazzling, just like the first time they met.  Since he had a meeting and was coming home late, she went back early with her friend who dropped her at the house.  Lucky for her, the friend was also coming home early to cook dinner for HER husband.

Silently, he placed his daughter on the floor and whispered, "Go play with your brother, ok?"  She nodded.  He walked towards his wife from behind and said slowly at her ear with a smile, "Assalamualaikum, lovely."  She turned slowly at the sound of the velvet voice.

"Waalaikumussalam, dear," was the response as she held out her hand to salam her husband.  He kissed her forehead lovingly and turned to the dining table.
"You really outdone yourself this time, sayang.  Pot of rice, fresh dates, tea, bandung cincau, ikan masinTapi you tak rasa like there's something missing ke?"
"If you mean that, then no, I don't think anything's missing," she said pointing at his favourite home-cooked food.

He looked at the red-sauced fried chicken like it was the mother-load of food.  He smiled from ear to ear.  Literally..

"You know me too well la tau tak?" he said, playfully tapping her nose.
"I married you, kan?  My business la to know you and of course ONLY you," she responded, smiling that smile that her husband's knees weak.

They looked at their kids in the living room.  Their son was teaching her sister how to play a game on the gaming console he bought for him.  Back then it was just PS and Xbox.  Now, the brands and companies are harder to pronounce.  They just looked at their kids laughing.  It's like having re-runs of your favourite happy ending of a movie; always making you smile.  A gift from Allah S.W.T and result of their marriage.  A blessing like no other.

~*~

He checked his Rolex and right on cue, Azan was being sounded.

"Abang, tutup the game and bring your sister here and makan.  Wash your hands," her voice trailed to the living room.  She washed her hands and her husband did the same.  Everybody was at the table and the head of the household recited the prayer to break his and her wife's fast and to eat.  "You never seem to amaze me, you know?  Manis air tgn wife I ni," he sounded, winking at his wife.  If you could put a ripe tomato at her cheeks, they were exactly the same colour.

Soon after that, they did the maghrib prayers together in the master bedroom.  To him and his wife, there's nothing more important than teaching your children the basics of Islam.  You gotta start somewhere right?  Yes, he realized that even though he was a little over 30, he knew that this life was short.  The Almighty can take everything from him and his family.  The roof on their heads, food on their plates and to him, the love of his life.  Those who repent are good.  Those who repent at an early age are even better.

~*~

Even though it was Thursday night and the next day was a school day and work day, it was always movie night.  "Which one yang kita nak tengok: Animated or action?" he asked his kids.  "Action!" said the son.  "Animated!"  said the daughter.  They glared at each other like they were sworn enemies.  He could just smile and look at his wife who was giggling.  "Hmmm..Susah ni.  How about we make it an "ANIMACTION" story?," he said, putting intrigue into his kids' heads.  "Yeah!" his kids cheered.

They watched an old movie.  "Toy Story".  It wasn't really an action movie but hey, it's pretty close.  After the movie, they went to the master bedroom again for the Isya' prayers.  "Adik..Abang..It's 11 already.  You better go to bed.  Especially you, abangNanti you'll be late for school," she said leaving their rooms.  "Brush your teeth, you guys!"
"Ok, Mama!" they said in unison.

~*~

When she walked to the living room, he caught his husband smiling to himself.  I wonder what he's grinning about, she thought.  She walked and wrapped her arms around her husband from behind.  He placed his hands on hers, smiling even wider.  "What are you smiling about ni?" she asked, nuzzling his shoulder blade.  "Nothing la.  I'm just lucky.  That's all," he said, fiddling with her fingers.

"Mmm..you're not the only one, sayang," she said.

Besides the sound of the aquarium filter and the fan, there was nothing but silence as they enjoyed each others company.  The night was perfect.  Quiet and mildly-dark thanks to the dimmed lights.  He turned and held her hands, soft and silky as ever.  The gazed into each others eyes.  He only saw his hopes and dreams swirled in those hazel eyes.  Most of which had already came true but one was in the making.  To grow old together.  Their hearts were beating as one........

~*~

I praise Allah for sending me you, my love
You found me home and sail with me
 And I'm here with you
Now let me let you know
You've opened my heart
I was always thinking that love was wrong
But everything was changed when you came along
Ohhhh..And there's a couple of words I wanna say

For the rest of my life
I'll be with you
I'll stand by your side
Honest and true
Till the end of my time
I'll be loving you, loving you
For the rest of my life
Through days and nights
I thank Allah
For open my eyes
Now and forever, I
I'll be there for you
I know it deep in my heart

Now that you're here
In front of me, I strongly feel love
And I have no doubt
And I'm singing loud
That I will love you eternally

For the rest of my life
I'll be with you
I'll stand by your side
Honest and true
Till the end of my time
I'll be loving you, loving you
For the rest of my life
Through days and nights
I thank Allah
For open my eyes
Now and forever, I
I'll be there for you
I know it deep in my heart

~*~

They looked at each other still.  A tear escaped down her cheek.  He put his hands on her cheeks and wiped the tear with his thumb.  She smiled and it was replied with a smile from him.  He kissed her forehead and gazed into the swirling vortex of love in her eyes.  He wrapped an arm around her waist and gently pulled her head to his chest.  She was listening to his heartbeat.  No words were needed at this point.  It said it all..

I love you, sayang.  Forever and always....

~*~

That's it.  I'm sorry if it's too boring.  Like I said, I'm not good with words.  Hehe.  Hope you guys like it.  Comments and reviews are totally welcomed.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P/S:  Thanx to those who helped me directly OR indirectly.  You know who you are ;-)

Hey, Soul Sister!

Assalamualaikum, everybody!!

After God knows for how long, I finally got to see one of my little sisters (adik angkat), Sabreena a.k.a Sab.  She asked if I wanted to tag along with her and her friends, who were my juniors during my MRSM KT days, to the comic fest at KLCC last Saturday.  I said yes.  She came a bit late so I spent about half an hour reading a book at Kinokuniya, which I bought.  Hehe..  We met after the Zohor prayers.  I saw Sya2 first.  Then As and Sab came along.  A few minutes later Sab's friend, Wan, tagged along.  He's this giant "plushy" guy that's always finding point s to annoy Sab.  So we teamed up quite well I guess.  We had lunch first since we can enter the thing at 3.30.  An old friend of mine from KK, Zuhair, was also there too.  He was meeting some friends so I suggested that he had lunch with us.  After that we went to the place.  The line was like crazy long.  A few minutes after that, "Today's tickets are no longer sold" (or something like that.

T_____T"

To me it was fine, though I'd like to see what it was like, being around all the people in costume and all that.  But everybody knows I'm more of a sports, movie and music buff.  Sab on the other hand was crushed.  The bubbliness was sucked right out of her.  Really pitied her.  She was looking forward to it for a long time I guessed.  As her little big brother, I guess I didn't do anything much to cheer her up.  Sorry sis..

>_<"

So we just sorta hung around Kinokuniya for a while.  Then I went to Rock Corner with Sya2 to look at some CDs.  Sya2 and I talked about lots of random stuff.  School..College..Relationships..Life as we know it..And what's to come..  Then we met up with Sab again.  Hafid, one of my juniors from KK who went to TGB with Sab came along with his brother.

But of course, all good things have an ending.

Sab and As and the others had to go back.  Sya2 can go back whenever she wanted that night cos her parents weren't around.  Just her and her brother.  Since we wanted to go back after Maghrib, we had some time to kill.  So we went to the food court and had ABC.  It was ok the ABC.  But it was a while since I had one.  So it did it's job.  Hehe...

At the end of the day, I got to hang out with some friends, met old ones and re-connect with my little sister who, as a "big" brother, I really care about.  She texted an apology text later that night about the day being a bust.  Haha!!  That's a bit ridiculous cos I did have a good time.  Every second of the day was worth it.

:-)

And I also got this......

I'm halfway through the book already.  Nothing like a good book to keep my mind out of things....

So I wanna thank all these people who were awesome enough to invite me and go along.....

Long Live His Majesty, The King!

Assalamualaikum, y'all!!

Our country now has a new ruler.  The sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, 84,  is now the King of the country replacing the sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.  His majesty, Tuanku Al-Mu'tassimu Billahi Muhibbudin Sultan Abdul Halim Al-Muadzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, took the oath of office as the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at a ceremony in royal traditions at Istana Negara.  He is now the King for the 2nd time.  He was the 5th Yang di-Pertuan Agong from Jan 21st 1970 to Sept 20th 1975 at the age of 43, making him one of the youngest to hold the post as Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

His Majesty during his rule as the 5th Yang di-Pertuan Agong

The ceremony was held at the new and majestic Istana Negara.  The 227th (special) Meeting Conference of Rulers convened in conjunction of the taking of oath and signing of the instrument of office at the Balairong Seri (Throne Room).

The Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail was the chairman of the meeting.  The Keeper of the Rulers' Seal, Datuk Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, presented the instrument of office to Tuanku Abdul Halim, who was in a Kedah royal attire called 'Sikap' consisting of a short jacket with a high collar, tengkolok (headdress), long pants, sampin, bengkung (cummerband) and complete with a keris (Malay dagger).

His Royal Highness took the pledge and took the instrument of office before the other rulers.  The Sultan of Perak and Pahang (Sultan Azlan Shah and Sultan Ahmad Shah respectively) were the witnesses of the signing of the document.  After that, the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, took the oath and signed the instrument of office as Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

All Malay rulers attended the ceremony except The Sultan of Terengganu who was represented by Tengku Sri Temenggong Raja, Tengku Baharuddin ibni Almarhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah.

I'm sure all Malaysians, no matter what the race wish his Royal Highness the best of luck for his 2nd posting as the King.  Insya-Allah.

LONG LIVE THE KING!!
See youguys on the flips side!!

Long Time No See!

Assalamualaikum, everybody!!

Looks like another class got cancelled.  2 classes actually.  Anywho, 'tis the reason why I can write on my "canvas" here.  Hehe..  I'm in UTM already T____T" But hey, for learning's sake and to help my family I think I'll do whatever.

:-D

But yesterday was quite an awesome day though.  I re-connected with an old friend of mine, Umi Nadhirah a.k.a Umi.  We weren't that close when we were in MRSM KK but hey, to me, when you're friends with someone, you're friends for life.  The original plan was to go to the MPH Carnival at the Midvalley Exhibition Centre with another friend of mine.  But surprise-surprise.  I was let down as usual.  Not to say that I'm use to it.  It hurts but if that person has a reasonable explanation, I guess you can't be mad at them right?

Anyway, Umi and I went to Sunway Pyramid and hung out there.  She said she wanted to go ice-skating.  So I was like, "what the hey?"  I joined her too.  The best part was that it's her treat!!

Haha!!  It's been a long time since I went ice-skating.  It was great.  And cold @_@  But great nonetheless.  Zigging and zagging all over the place.  And trying to avoid the RIDICULOUS amount of people there so that you won't fall.  It's even better when you're skating with a friend.  Especially one that you haven't seen in a while.  Her friends came along too but we just met briefly and they went browsing around in the mall.  After having a late lunch/early dinner, we went to MPH and Popular to help her find the Contract Act.  She's taking Law.  But we couldn't find it anywhere.  So we just decided to go back after Maghrib prayers since it was near Maghrib already.

It was quite a day yesterday.  I was shoved.  Happy to re-connect with an old friend.  Muscles aching from skating.  Still are by the way.  Haha!!  But I guess it was worth it though.  Really hope I could do it again sometime but with more friends.

I actually got tennis training at 5 later.  My Monday classes are from 8 a.m till 6 p.m.  It's not as bad as some people I know.  Since my classes for the afternoon are cancelled I guess I should go and practice.  It's the try-outs for the tennis team anyway.  I guess it's the only thing I'm good at lately.  Plus, I could relieve a bit of stress.  AND I can imagine that the ball is the head of the guy that I hate so much and just whack it.  Oh yeeeeaaaah...  I love it...

*Evil laugh*

I gotta jet.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P/S : If any of you guys can't actually make it to meet up with your friends or might be a bit late, inform them earlier and don't tell them at the last minute.  It could really piss people off.  You can actually gain respect from doing this.

No Thanks Necessary, Ma'am

Assalamualaikum, y'all!!

I'm hoooome!! Haha! It's good to be back in Shah Alam.  I know Shah Alam ain't really that far from UTM but hey, it's a benefit for getting a college near your house.  Hehe..  I'm home for some family business though.  So it's a chance I take to see my parents.

Anyway, this post ain't really about that though.  It's the journey I wanna talk about.....

Yup.  That's right.
I was on my way back to Shah Alam from KL Sentral by KTM.  I had to stand since there were no seats that were unseated (No surprise) So standing next to me was this girl with 2 plastic bags of books from MPH.  One big and one small.  Of course, we had to cling to the steel poles to keep us from falling.  The girl next to me did it too but she had a hard time holding on cos of the books.  I didn't have the guts to offer help cos I was scared that she'd think I'm hitting on her.  But the thing is.....

Every time we hit a station, she looks at me after seeing that there were no seats that were empty.  Then I thought..

"Does she want me to help or what?"

So I sucked it up and asked......

"Uhmmm..Kak, leh saye tolong pegang buku2 tu?"
("Uhmmm..Miss, can I help you with your books there?")

"Boleh jugak.  Terima kasih :-)"
("Sure.  Thanks :-) ")

So I took her big plastic of books.  When she wasn't looking I took a peak into the bag.  Then I saw it.....

These weren't the books by the way.  It's just the subject that's the same
In my head I was like.......

"HOLY CRAP!! o.O"

She was younger than me!!  And I called her "KAK"!!??  (A more polite way to call ladies who are a few years younger than us)  Then I just started small-chatting with her when she smiled at me......

"Form 4 ke?"
("Form 4 huh?")

"Ha'ah.  Tahun depan form 5."
("Uh-huh.  Form 5 next year.")

"Tersilap la plak panggil 'kak' td >_<"
("Looks like I made a mistake calling you 'akak' just now >_<")

"Ha'ah.  Tu yg saye pelik tu."
("Uh-huh.  That was a bit freaky.")

Somehow we started taking for a while when she asked some questions about college.  Just want the younger ones to be better than we are, you know?  I was just being nice and thought I'd lend a hand.  Anyway, I got a good story from this case of "Mistaken Identity".  So to speak..

Well..It's late and I wanna get some Z's

See you guys on the flip side!!

We Have To Go Back To The Future!

Assalamualaikum,everyone!!

This time my class didn't get cancelled.  Haha!! My group's Physics lab is next week.  So we get to rest for a bit.  First off, music news coming!!  Two of my favourite bands just released their new video from their new albums.

We The Kings (WTK) of Sunshine State Florida

All Time Low (ATL) from Baltimore, Maryland
Hell Yeah, man!! Haha!!  Fell in love with these 2 bands since...I can't remember O.o So it's easier to say that I've been loving their music for a long time.  And as they make more music n more albums, their music just keeps getting better and better.  WTK released their new single "Say You Like Me" from their latest album Sunshine State of Mind.  The song's also an interactive game that you can play here.  When you mix an awesome band and a game that they're in, you just gotta love it.  XD

Next is ATL.  I've been listening to WTK longer than these guys but you gotta admit.  They make great music too.  Their latest single from their album Dirty Work is "Time-Bomb".  You can't argue with a band that still makes awesome music even after their fourth album.

By the way, all you music lovers might know this but to those who don't, there will be some famous acts coming down to Malaysia next year.

That is, if I'm not mistaken.  I'm pretty sure Simple Plan and Avril Lavigne will be coming.  As for Coldplay, I heard rumours.  It will be awesome if they come though.

Honestly?  I miss performing in front of a crowd.  The feeling of having everybody singing along with you.  Jumping up and down with the band on the floor and on the stage (So far, I haven't seen anybody do a stage dive yet.  It would be awesome though)  Hearing people shouting and screaming your name when you do a guitar solo.  And of course that big applause you get after finishing a song.

Yup.  Those were the days.  Hopefully I'll get the chance again.  I'm in college!  Surely I'll get a chance.  I think T___T"

Well, I got EFAS to go in half an hour.  I guess I gotta go.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P/S: If you appreciate music click the links to ATL's and WTK's latest music ;-)

Open Up Your Heart, I'm Just Planting Seeds

Assalamualaikum, y'all!!

Sorry for the "retardation" <----- (This IS a word right?) of my blog lately.  The internet connection at my hostel currently has its connection in knots if you know what I mean.  Assignments are coming in, tennis practice is starting..And things are starting to stir.  You know, a lot of things are gonna happen in the future.  It's cliche I know.  So what?  Sue me if you want but it's a fact.  Hell, even lots of things happened THIS year..2011...

Let's see..  Hmmm..

I worked for the first time.  My first job was at Kenny Rogers.  I got my SPM result.  It wasn't as expected.  On the plus side to that, I got into UTM KL.  Met new friends here in UTM KL.  Spent lots of time with my nephew Kaisan.  Still am if I get the chance.  He's small no doubt but lots of fun.  Haha!! OHMYGOD I miss the little guy.  Anyway, I got into the Dean's List for my 1st semester in UTM KL.  Alhamdulillah for that.  And last but not least, 'the break up'.  That really shook me to my core.  I've never been that sad, depressed and lots of other negative things in my life.  The nightmare came to me every night that I never got enough sleep.  I was too scared to go through it all again in my nightmares.

:'-(

But hey, people come and go.  Lots of people tell me that it's hard to find someone like me.  I have no idea what kind of a person I am honestly.  But when that's said, do they mean it?  I mean...If you found that unique or special thing, why the hell would you let it go?!

Anyway, I guess it's right what Travie said in his song.....

"Appreciate every mixed tape your friends make
You never know we come and go like we're on the interstate."

But hey, newsflash!  I may have found a new hope.  It was hard to recover.  And even harder to search.  But hey we'll see how it turns out.  Insya-Allah, my prayers will be answered.  Hopefully..

:-)

I know it's too early to say all of these things cos New Year's is bout 3-4 weeks away.  But this is MY blog.  So put that in your coconut and suck it..

*Evil laugh*

Sorry about that.  Got carried away O.o

Anyway, Puan Farah ain't around.  So EFAS (English For Academic Studies) is cancelled.  'Tis the reason that I FINALLY get to to update my "canvas" here.

Well..  I gotta jet.

See you guys on the flip side!!
