Has Left The Building

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, everyone!!

I know.  It's been 4 months since I last updated.  I got my reasons and they're just too many to list down here.  I can give you the major one though.

Finishing my diploma in April, I focused on one thing:

STUDYING OVERSEAS

All I had to do were apply for a place in the UK and then ask for a sponsorship.  Scholarship or loan, doesn't matter as long as I get a sponsor. Easy enough, right?

Not quite.

I did plenty of reading and research.  Asked a few friends too.  Talked to some friends about whether or not it's the right thing to do because there's like no one in the house except for my parents so it'll make me feel bad if I go.  I prayed more than I used to.  I wept, cried and banged my head on the walls.  I was going nuts.

I applied to 5 unies: Sheffield, Newcastle, Manchester, Cardiff and Southampton.

I got a spot for Newcastle and Sheffield.  A conditional and unconditional offer respectively.  So I had to choose.  I did.  This came to my house...........

I chose Sheffield, so I searched for a sponsor.  Nobody was offering because apparently most of them were closed by the time waaaaaay before I got a spot.  Like in March or May, all offers are closed.  I just think that's unfair because that means they're prioritising the SPM leavers rather than diploma holders.  JPA opened their applications for the top world unies, which Sheffield is NOT and MARA said that they don't have the budget to send students for degree because their focused on the masters and PhD students.  I find that really annoying to be honest.

A few weeks before the local degree sessions were about to start, I got this in the mail.........

Alhamdulillah I got a place in UTM..KL..AGAIN.  It's a 2nd year entry so I'll be finishing my degree in 3 years instead of 4 In Sya-Allah.

Some might know how it feels, some may not.  But right now, I don't bloody care.  It bloody hurts to be so close and then have everything fall apart (aside from getting UTM of course).  Do you have ANY idea how it affected my self-esteem? Do you know how much of an emotional and neurotic mess I was? I was mentally, emotionally and physically beaten and drained.

I have my family giving me pointers too.  Don't get me wrong, I listened.  I know they all meant well and I appreciate it.  But there were times when I felt that they think I wasn't doing the right thing.  Don't ask me what that means because I'm not sure myself.  So let's just leave it at that because I know sometimes my family reads my blog.

I find it ironic sometimes because I treat my blog like a journal that I let people read.  So I think I sort of have the right to write anything I want.  But then sooner or later, someone in my family will say something like "Change what you said in your blog.  It's not nice." or "Better delete that tweet or you'll have a lot of people being angry at you." (Twitter) or "Take down that post.  It's rude." (Facebook).  Ok, so maybe for Facebook or Twitter I can consider deleting them but my blog is where I pour everything out because you wanna know why? Because us youngest kids in the family are often thought as the one who just can't think.  As in whatever we say is invalid and doesn't matter.  Regardless of how right we are, the older ones than us will just cancel out our opinions.  I hate that.  And I hate arguing with people.  So I just end up walking away from an argument despite knowing how 100% sure I'm right.

Anyway, people keep telling me to do my best in my degree so I can do my masters overseas.  I will surely.  But what if my best ain't enough? Talk is cheap tapi kalau dah result macam tu jugak nak buat macam mana? Betul tak? The pressure is just like so immense, I'm a wreck, man.

Someone told me, "Just focus on your studies...And tennis.  That's it."  I totally agree.  Tennis is the only time where my problems wash away and I feel like right now is the time that I REALLY want to study.  Which means....I won't be blogging anymore.  If I DO post something, it's just because I don't want my account to be closed or something like that.  I'll be on other social media of course.

Well, classes start next week.  So I won't be posting here anymore eh? Meh.  Not like anybody reads this anyway.

See you guys on the flipside!!

P.S: Goodbye

All In

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

Assalamu'alaikum, everybody!

I know I've been going on and on about tennis.  You can't really blame me though.  It's called passion.  I've been playing for 16  years now.  Still trying to improve but when you've played THAT long and still going at it, it's hard to stop.

So anyway, Qutub (a friend from UTMKL) and I went shopping.  Well, just me actually.  He was my wingman.  I'm not starting my degree till September and I just thought, "What the hell am I gonna do?"  I AM looking for a job.  I have one in mind but not sure about that yet.  Still working on it.

I got some cash that the Fuzzy Balls gave in advance. So what did I do with it? This............

I'm a Nike guy to be honest.  I don't have Adidas gear.  Shirts or things like that.  I got lots of Nike stuff.  Most of them I got them cheap or somebody gave me.  My tennis shoes are a pair of Nikes.  I just thought.....

Meh.  A little change won't hurt eh? Took it out for a test a few hours ago.  Along and his mates were out playing futsal.  I gotta say.  It was bloody hell tiring! The last time I played, I think, was in 2012.  That's 2 friggin' years ago! Hey, at least I got a goal.  Haha!

I won't waste these shoes.  I'll play when I can.  Count on it

;-)

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: Syauqi Kusyairi is #allin...
For now

BMWMO 2014 (Part 2)

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

Assalamu'alaikum, y'all!!

Sorry it took too long to put the 2nd part of the BMWMO.  These pictures pretty much sums up our 2nd and final week of work..............

At least we were always on the screen right? Haha! It rained everyday except for ONE single day.  It rained during the finals too so the delays were really long.  We didn't do it all the way though.  The ball boys did it after we rolled the initial layer of water.

This lady was so hard to get a proper picture of.  The tournament's main attraction, Dominika Cibulkova!

Or as we'd like to call her, IKA.

-____-"

It was against policy but I did it.  Can't help myself..........

Me with Jarmila Gajdosova from Australia.  We weren't suppose to take pictures with the players.  But rules were made to be broken at some point right?

;-)

Also got a picture with Ms. Renai Mattu from Astro.  A bit giddy at the time but can you blame me?

:-3

We celebrated Aji's birthday too.  And somebody got the ice treatment.  Haha! Happy birthday, Haziq!

Haha! John.  That guy cracks us up.  He strung most of the players' racquets.  He's a tennis coach too.

Some of us bought some new gear too.  Hehe..

For the doubles finals, it was Babos-Chan vs Kichenok-Savchuk.  Babos and Chan were the no. 1 seed for the tournament's doubles category.  They were pretty much the pair to beat.  It was a set each.  The 3rd deciding set was a super tie-break.  First to reach 10 points.  Surprise-surprise, Babos-Chan won.....

Next was the MAIN main event.  Center court was pretty much packed.  It was Dominika Cibulkova vs the 17 y/o Donna Vekic.

Vekic took the 1st set but 'IKA' rallied to get the 2nd set.  Then it went down to a tie-break.  First to 7.

Ali told us that we can go watch.  So we did!

Ain wasn't in there.  Sorry, Ain!

>___<"

It was great seeing a live match.  It was so tense.  Of course we cheered for Donna.  Who doesn't like the underdog, right?  Aaaaaaand.  She won!!

It slowly dawned on me that our work was over.  There were lots of this.............

And this...........

But these 2 will always be my favourite.............

The following day, we went to Bangi.  Over there, you can find the cheapest but really worth it tennis gear.  Faris bought a new racquet.  Guess I won't be taking him on with his new racquet.  Bummer.  Then we had to send this little lady back.............

Most of us were burnt.  Daaaaamn

T______T"

I'm not good with selfies.  Haha!! Ain wasn't around though cos she went back earlier that morning.

Well, that's the end of the 2 weeks.  Thanks to the people from Fuzzy Balls for giving us a chance to work with you.  Lots of ups and downs but it was damn worth it.  If my fellow crew are reading this, I messed lots of times, scolded some of you guys and also did some bad things.  I'm really sorry and I hope to see you all soon.  In Sya-Allah.

:-)

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: Just bought some new gear!  But it's not what you think

BMWMO 2014 (Part 1)

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, y'all!

About 2 weeks ago, me and 6 friends of mine volunteered to become part of the court services crew for the 2014 WTA BMW Malaysia Open (BMWMO).  I'm telling you.  It was hard work. Carrying boxes and bags of ice and tennis balls and drinks.  But it was worth every damn second.  For the first few days we got out of work early cos there weren't much to do anyway...........

Mind you, there weren't any hard court surfaces in the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) grounds.  Just grass courts.  That's the center court right there where all the main matches were played and the court that was televised on Astro.  The prize was of course that new BMW X5 up there.  How did they get it there? No clue.

-___-"

Here's where the players did most of their practice sessions.  MiCasa hotel suites.  There's Miss Rika Fujiwara practising her serve.

No idea what possessed Aji over there in the 2nd picture.  Haha!

Ok.  So basically the next pictures are what we see almost everyday in the BMWMO.............

Don't ask me about that last picture.  That's just the 2 Ali's (Ali and Wan Ali).  They've got a screw loose.  Well...They've got all of they're screws loose.  Haha!

I've been playing tennis for 16 years now.  And seeing these ladies play how they did was just...Humbling.  I mean I know they're pros but c'mon, right?

Well, I think I'll finish part 2 of this tomorrow.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: Thinking of training those guys.  Those who can't do, teach.  Right? >____<"

Movie Review - Captain America: The Winter Soldier

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, everybody!

I'm getting lazier and lazier..And..Lazier.  Needed some rest after the 2014 WTA BMW Malaysia Open finished.  I guess I'm gonna start from BEFORE that.  The tournament was actually from 14th-20th April but we gathered at KSJ on the 7th.  There were qualifying rounds and what not.  But let's save that for later ok?

Before we started with all the heavy lifting (literally), the 6 of us who were taking part as the court services crew, just thought of watching a movie.  Some of us have watched Need For Speed, some watched 300 and some watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  Me? I haven't watched any of them.  So naturally I told them to choose a movie.  The Winter Soldier it was....

Chris Evans reprises his role as Captain Steve Rogers a.k.a Captain America.  Along with Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury).  In this movie, the heroes face a somewhat 'sneak attack' from Hydra which included the use of the Captain's friend from the first movie, James Buchanan Barnes a.k.a Bucky as 'The Winter Soldier'.  After his drop from the train in the first movie, he lost his memory and Hydra used him to tear down S.H.I.E.L.D and also kill Fury and the other heroes.  Steve, being the guy that he is, of course tried to save Bucky from being Hydra's puppet.

This movie also introduced Marvel's Sam Wilson / Falcon character, played by Anthony Mackie (Real Steel, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter).  I gotta say though.  His character's kinda cool.  Haha!

The movie's awesome and I really think I'd watch it again if anybody asked.  Out of 10, I'd give this...

an 8/10

Don't ask what happened to the other 2.  Hehe.

Anywho, we had dinner since we watched the 5.30 show.  Here's the UTM representative of the WTA BMWMO2014 court services crew!

From left: Aji, myself, Faris, Ain, Cyda and Salihin

Don't ask what's wrong with us in the last picture.  Needless to say, we're all awkward like that.  Haha!!

Mind you, the 6 of us are part of UTMKL's tennis team and have been playing since we got there.  We still are and going strong! I'm just hoping that since I've finished my diploma, I get to see them again.

:'-(

In Sya-Allah.  Love these guys!!

More to come, In Sya-Allah.  I'll post some picts here when I can later.  I'm telling you, the 2 weeks we spent was exhausting and that's a ginormous understatement.  But hell, it was worth every second of it.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: Otak dah meracau dah ni.  Sasau.  Ada solution but I don't think they'll like it though O___o"

Took You Long Enough

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, everyone!

Almost 3 months that I've last updated this little thing.  27th January.  Tick-tock and guess what....

I sort of 'officially' finished my diploma in UTMKL!! XDDD

We went for a trip to PD a few days after we finished our exams.  We had to present our projects after the trip so everything sorta went nuts.  Can't really post it now though.  Quite a lot of things going on currently.  I'm at home, resting but not for long.  Theres the WTA Malaysia Open tennis from 8th-20th April and some of my friends and I are volunteering.  We get paid so it's a one-time thing for now.  RM70/day.  Siapa yg nk bg btol x?  Haha!!

On a another note.  Man United won 4-0 in Newcastle with goals from Juan Mata (2), Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Adnan Januzaj.  Good team effort and brilliant goals.  A few tune-ups are needed of course to face Bayern munich (who finally lost to Augsburg in the Bundesliga, 1-0, after 54 games unbeaten) in the 2nd leg of the UEFA Champions League in Munich Thursday morning.

3 years of college and I'm finally getting my diploma.  Praise the Lord.  Like...REALLY.  Alhamdulillah.

:-)

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: I really have to update more

Monday 27 January 2014

The Special Juan

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, y'all!!

It's been quite a while since my last update.  I've been quite busy and distracted lately.

Some of you might know that there are always things that are 'trending' on the internet.  Especially on Twitter, with the hashtags and what not.  Well me, being a true Red Devil fan, can't pass this chance to do an update about our latest and not to mention record signing, Juan Mata.

Juan Manuel Mata Garcia, commonly known by football fans as Juan Mata, signed for Manchester United last week after an agreement with Chelsea.  He's now United's record-signing with a price tag of 37.1 million pounds.  He fell out of Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho's favour, as the Chelsea boss picked Oscar over Juan Mata.  Man United boss, David moyes, said that he knew the deal can be done.  Mourinho a.k.a The Special One did say that he have regrets on the Mata transfer but he still respects him and wished him all the best.  Even Frank Lampard said:

"Juan Mata is absolutely a fantastic player, but more than that he's an absolutely great lad and we wish him all the best personally."

Personally, I think Mata is a great addition to United's ammunition especially looking at how the season is going for them.  Out of the FA Cup and defeated by Sunderland in a dramatic semi-final league cup tie, Juan Mata might just lift the spirits of not only the fans but also the players.

Here are some pictures starting from his arrival at the Carrington training ground until the unveiling of Mata's shirt number about an hour ago.....

Juan Mata greeted by David Moyes at United's Carrington training ground

Looking sharp, Juan!

Mata hugging fellow Spaniard and Man United goal keeper, David De Gea
These pictures were taken ahead of Mata's medical tests.  Sure enough, he passed with flying colours.  Haha!

Pen and paper.  The only thing that  'MATA'

He's an official Red
There was some talk about him getting the iconic no. 7 jersey.  To be honest, I'm not really sure if he can actually live up to the shirt.  THE shirt....

He's taking Anderson's shirt

We'll always remember you, Anderson.  Hehe.

On the shirt number, Mata had this to say:

"8 is a great number.  I know 7 is iconic here.  We decided 8 is good for me.  Hopefully it'll bring me luck."

Man United will face Cardiff City on Wednesday morning at 3.40 am.  United welcome Cardiff who grabbed a point when the Reds came to Cardiff last time out with a 2-2 scoreline.  All United fans, me included, are hoping that Mata can get his start.  With Rooney and RVP sure to play, it'll be a good game to watch.

It will also be a great homecoming moment for Manchester United legend and Cardiff City manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer....

One of the greatest icons in Manchester United
The baby-faced assassin who was a big part of United's history and in the treble winning squad will surely get a warm welcome from the fans.  Seems a bit early but....Welcome back, Ole!

This might be a great turnaround for United.  We'll see.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S:
