A Good Week For Football

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, y'all!!

I'd say this week's been a rather good week.  A few setbacks are a must-happen thing every week (every day even).  At least to me.  This particular week though, football's been good....

The national U23 team, Harimau Muda A won 2-0 in the Pesta Bola Merdeka 2013 (the Merdeka Tournament) against their Myanmar counterpart thanks to goals from Rozaimi Rahman ('29) and 'Junior' ('94).

Ong Kim Swee's men did pretty well in the 1st half.  Attacking aggressively and defending perfectly.  Wan Zack's parried shot was tapped in by Rozaimi before a Myanmar defender could clear it.   In the 2nd half, Harimau Muda A defended even more as Myanmar was getting most of the possession.  A counter attack in the dying minutes resulted in a goal by Putera Nadher Amarhan, sealing the trophy for the team.  The last time Malaysia won was in 2007 against Myanmar too with a 3-1 scoreline.

Congrats to Harimau Muda A!!!

XD

To football abroad, Man United won 2-0 at home against newly promoted side, Crystal Palace.  To be honest, I just saw the 1st half.  The crowd/students came to watch the national team's game.

United got the ball up front but there's just no finishing.  Despite that fact, goals from Robin van Persie/RvP (Pen '45+1) and Wayne Rooney ('81) secured the Reds' first home victory this season.

RvP's penalty was due to Ashley Young being brought down by Dikgacoi.  I think it was a bit soft.  Young WAS booked earlier before that because of diving.  I think he actually 'slid' into the penalty box and the Crystal Palace defender, being the last man, got sent off.  RvP converted the penalty and United was 1-0 up by half-time.  New signing Marouane Fellaini and youngster, Adnan Januzaj, both came in although the latter came in a bit later (See what I did there?  Haha!!).

The two Belgians wasted no time in making an impact on the game.  Januzaj ghosted through the Palace defense every time after he went in.  One of his efforts resulted to a free-kick after being brought down.  A free-kick scored by 'the white Pele', Wayne Rooney.  I think it's safe to say that the summer controversies about him are over.

"Wazza" celebrates his goal

Fellaini, the new no. 31, needs time to settle in to his new home and Januzaj....Well, every Red Devil fan will be looking forward to seeing more of him with Wilfried Zaha, also another player that's expected to shine.

Sir Alex Ferguson's successor will need to cement the fans' loyalty by winning more games and getting more goals.  With the Manchester derby coming next weekend, he needs every bit of firepower and strategies to get the hearts of the fans and most importantly, silence those neighbours.

My country and club winning their matches on the same night.  Yeah, it's a good week for football.  With man city held by Stoke City in a goalless draw and Chelsea beaten by Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park, the icing on the cake is if Liverpool lost to Swansea later.  Hehe..

On a much bleaker note, I'll be bloody busy next week due to tests and assignments that the lecturer gave last minute.  Oh joy

And I might be hanging my tennis racquet.  For how long, I'm not sure.  My knee injury is getting more and more frequent and I don't wanna push it too hard.  The least I could do is maybe supervise the 1st years at the court.

Recurring knee injury took it's toll during MASUM a few weeks back.
My final exams starting on the 30th of Sept..Papers on the 30th, 4th, 6th and 8th August.  Then it's the semester break and down to some business I need to attend to.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: I have some Lindsey Stirling related news! Maybe for the next post?  ;-)

Let's Catch Up

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, y'all!!

Wait a sec, aye?

*Gets my leaf blower and blows almost 2 months-worth of dust and cobwebs*

Sorry about that.  A bit dusty.  And I don't bode well with dust.

Really, guys.  Sorry for not updating.  Almost 2 months I think.  A lot's been happening.  Ramadhan, Eid, an old friend coming back to Malaysia for the holidays (well, her holiday la to be exact).  I can't actually be too long cos I sorta need to go in about 15 minutes.  So let me fill you in on a few stuff.  Oui?

;-)

Let's see, Ramadhan was good, Alhamdulillah.  Not a day passed that I didn't do Tarawih.  The only thing is that I just did the full 23 (plus Witir, mind you) only once.  But hey, hopefully I can see another Ramadhan next year, In Sya-Allah.

The build up to raya was quite something too.  I just go my driver's license a few months ago (yeah, I'm that lame.  Sue me :-P ).  And since I was at UTM a lot, I didn't drive that much.  Oh, how much that changed in just a week's holiday.  Haha!!

Eid was good albeit a bit short.  Didn't take that many pictures either...

T____T"

Me with le parents XD

Death by chocolate.  Fluffy would say "DAMN!" O_o"
After raya was a week's tennis training for MASUM 2013 and to be honest I was really heavy due to the attacks I got from rendang, ketupat, nasi impit and other stuff.  I was very slow but it was ok.  Had to skip 2 weeks of classes.  No idea how I could catch up.  A bit freaked out right now.

>___<"

After training, the week finally came and I was so quite.  But hey, we DID have a good time before we started the event.  Haha!!

We (the guys) went against USIM, USM and UIA.  I won my match against USIM.  Played the singles.  2 singles and 3 doubles matches.  So we won 3-2.  Against USM was a different story.  I twisted my knee pretty bad during my match.  It was an old injury.  A recurring one.  So I had to forfeit the match cos I couldn't go on.

We lost 3-2 against USM.  We lost 5-0 against UIA.  They're really good so personally, I don't feel anything.

Well, that's pretty much it.  Now, I'm back at UTM to study.  God, please help me.

T____T"
