Thank You Datuk Lee Chong Wei!

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu'alaikum, peeps!!

As you all know, our very own Datuk Lee Chong Wei fought valiantly against arch rival Lin Dan of China. Needless to say, it was a hard-fought match by DLCW.  Winning the 1st set but losing the 2nd, Chong Wei seemed to be getting the best of Lin Dan when he was leading 18-16.  Luck was clearly not on his side, he lost the last set 21-19.  The match, said to be one of the best finals in the Olympics, surely made all of us bit our nails.  At the end of the agonising final, Datuk Lee Chong Wei, sank down and broke into tears.  Nobody can blame him...........

Ok, I didn't see the match but it was really slowing down my twitter.  Every tweet was about how DLCW was doing.  So I didn't bother watching it even though I really wanted to.  When I heard that he lost, it was just gutting.

It's as if THAT wasn't bad enough, my all-time favourite tennis player and world no. 1, Roger Federer lost the final against 4th seed Andy Murray of Great Britain in straight sets in the final. Andy Murray who was beaten by the Swiss Maestro in the Wimbledon Championships last month redeemed himself by claiming the gold medal in the Olympics' men's singles tennis final.

Like any other people in this era of technology, I tweeted.....

@syauqistump1810: DLCW lost the final and Federer ALSO lost the final..GREEEEAT..Hit a man when he's down

Haha!!  No disrespect to Datuk Lee Chong Wei of course.  He did the country proud.  Unlike DAP's assemblyman, M. Manoharan who posted a distasteful tweet on twitter.  He tweeted.....

"LIN DAN wins.  He played better than Lee Chong AWAY."

That's so unprofessional, innit?  Like that's not enough, he tried to politicise sports by saying that if Pakatan Rakyat is in control, our country's sports would be better (I'm paraphrasing here of course).

C'mon la.  DLCW fought hard and came CLOSE to winning.  He even APOLOGISED for not winning.  He also said that his biggest regret is not being able to hear the national anthem during the medal ceremony.  That's how humble and awesome he is.

On twitter, #ThankYouLeeChongWei, #DLCW and lots of others on him were trending worldwide.  That showed how supportive our country is.

Back to M.Manoharan, he issued an apology on twitter saying....

"I deeply regret the comments I have made and tender my heartfelt apologies to Dato' Lee Chong Wei and his family. I sincerely hope my apology will be accepted."

Excuse me, sir.  He has a DATUK rank.  Not DATO'.  But regardless, he apologised.

Well, I got class in a few.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: I actually sorta promised myself not to put any political-related stuff (Politicians included) in my blog but he was just over the line.
