Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, y'all!!

I might be a bit late to post this but better late than never.  Need I remind my fellow brothers and sisters of Islam that wishing "Merry Christmas" even to non-Muslims is HARAM.  You can deny it all you want and say that "the hadith spreading on9 is false".  But when you actually read books from Muslim scholars and especially The Book (al-Quran), you might wanna retract those statements.

Want proof?

"They say: “(God) Most Gracious has begotten a son!” Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous! At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin, that they should invoke a son for (God) Most Gracious. For it is not consonant with the majesty of (God) Most Gracious that He should beget a son.”

Surah Maryam (19) : Ayat 88

Based on my understanding and reading, Christmas is believed by Christians to be the day that Jesus Christ (Prophet Isa a.s) was born.  "They" in the verse above shows the non-believers saying God has begotten a son.  By wishing Christmas, we acknowledge this belief and therefore we fall in to SYIRIK (Na'udzubillah).

I'm not saying that we Muslims don't believe in Jesus a.s.  Of course we do.  We love him and he is one of the most powerful prophets in Islam.  He will come down on Judgement Day to defeat Dajjal.  But he isn't God and even he says so.  Y'all can read that at your own time ok?

:-)

I think I wanna share what happened to me on Twitter.  It's related to this post....

Normally with that kind of attitude from that girl, I'd 'bash' her on the spot.  I ain't the patient type.  But I'm older even though by 1 year or 2.  So I did my job.  Mind you, I don't wanna make her look bad so I wiped her username and picture......

Just so you know, this also applies to other Christian-related holidays.  And also to saying "R.I.P" when a non-Muslim especially celebrities die.

I'm not trying to be pious.  I don't wear a kopiah everywhere I go.  I'm just your normal undergrad student who enjoys music, sports and just trying to be on the Right Path.

A word of advice: Don't give your opinions unless you have valid sources.  And if it's Islam-related, why would we give our own opinions if Allah has decree His order in The Book?  Sure, there are other Mazhabs but all those are from 2 sources, al-Quran and as-Sunnah.

I hope I don't annoy people with this post.  I just think it's our duty, you know?

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: I'm a bit sceptic on the whole wishing on new year too.  So I just think I'd say may Allah help you in your future and may your future be also helped by your past ;-)

Devils pitch-forked West Brom

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, y'all!!

Really sorry bout not being able to update for almost 2 weeks.  I got a bit pre-occupied with some stuff at college.  Had a delayed Electronic Manufacturing project but Alhamdulillah with some help from some friends and a hint of luck, Haikal, my lab partner, and I pulled through.

Just so you know, I've just started my 1-week break for New Year's.  Unlike UiTM, we started the new sem 1 week BEFORE they started and started the 1-week break AFTER they finished.  But hey, every college has their own standards, ya know what I mean?

I don't actually know what to post though.  So I think I'll just do an update on Man United's match last night at home against West Brom.

Frankly speaking, the match was a bore.

T____T"

The match sprang to life only when Robin van Persie went in for Shinji Kagawa, who got his first start since his injury in October.

United got the lead in 9 minutes after Ashley Young's shot bounced off Gareth McAuley.  It was considered an own goal.  United held possession very well till half time.

In the 2nd half however, West Brom started to find chances.  Most of which De Gea was able to parry away.  Other chances were wasted by off-target shots.  When Kagawa was subbed with RvP, the game started to pick up for the Red Devils.  The result, van Persie got a goal on the 90th minute and United sealed the win and got the first clean sheet in a long time.

Despite city's 4-3 win against Norwich at Carrow Road, United remains on top of the BPL, 7 points clear.

Well, that's it I think.  I have a week oh holiday.  I'll try to update everyday In Sya-Allah.

:-)

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S:  I have an interesting post to make the next time I update ;-)

I Think I Got A Cousin Driving A Truck of Reeboks

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, everybody!!

First of all, I think I need to apologize for not updating for so long.  I did it on purpose though.  Just to prove a point that....

MANCHESTER IS RED!!!! yeah!

If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out my last post.

;-)

You know, people nowadays like to judge (my opinion).  You know, they look at people who wear nice clothes, they'll say that they're rich.  If he/she ain't good looking, that person we'll be disliked and shunned.  I for one, grudgingly and reluctantly, admit that I often do things like those but not EXACTLY like those, mind you.

But don't you think that some people's personality can be known by looking at their choice or collection of footwear?

XDDD

Haha!!  Let me introduce you guys to them

:-P

From left to right:

1) Flip flops

They're actually my Angah's.  He bought it when he came back from London for Eid a few months back.  He left it so I didn't want it to go to waste.  It shows that I may be lazy at times.  I usually wear flip flops to places that I normally and always go.  One thing's for sure, I wear these when I go to the surau.  But regardless of the footwear, I take care/watch my Solat.  5 times a day people.  Don't forget that.

2) Sneakers (Number 1)

Those brown sneakers are somewhat a prized possession of mine.  I bought them in London when I visited Angah and his family earlier this year.  Surprisingly it's actually quite cheap even when you convert the price to RM.  Anywho, I love this pair cos I can be fun and formal at the same time.  Some people wear sneakers just for hanging out but these are actually leather I think (not to brag by the way).  So this pair of River Island sneakers are like two personalities of mine.  I can be having fun yet still maintain an image of....manly macho-ness?  Think about it.  You'll get my point.  Hehe...

3) Sneakers (Number 2)

Those cream Converse sneakers are the shoes that I bought using my own hard-earned money when I was working at Kenny Rogers last year.  It was quite pricey but it was the cheapest one in the store.  I'd wear these instead of the former if I have a gig with my band.  It screams guitar solos and stage dives.  Haha!!  I usually wear this when I go out.  You know, have fun, meet new people and just going crazy basically.  But then again, I have to choose between these and the pair above to do that.  Hey, I ain't complaining.  Haha!!

4) Sports shoes

Ok technically, the pair of Nikes are actually tennis shoes.  But don't get me wrong.  I DO play other sports. Football, badminton, volleyball.  Although I can play most sports but I take football and tennis seriously.  Right now, it's tennis.  I may be small, but I'm really active in sports.  Gotta keep a healthy lifestyle.  You know what I mean?

5) Black leather shoes

I wear this on Mondays for class since Monday is a "formal day".  But hey, I throw on a pair of black slacks and a nice pair of shirt and tie, I think it shows the more chic side of me.  I can be fun, active AND intelligent in my own way.  Just because I like having a good time and play sports, doesn't mean I'm a jock and a wild child.  I have my 'otaku' side.  I like to read books.  Mainly fantasy novels (Percy Jackson and the sort).  So that's why I can speak English quite well if I do say so myself.  Don't get me wrong.  I'm proud of my roots.  I'm bilingually fluent.  Bahasa Melayu and English.  So yeah.  I'd say I have that elegant and "charming" side of me too.  Haha!!!

:-P

So there you go.  Like I said.  A lot can be told by a man's footwear.

Do keep in mind that to know a person is also by actually getting to know him/her.  Don't be too quick to judge people.  If y'all wanna know the real Syauqi Kusyairi a.k.a Choki you guys can go HERE.  I'm an opened minded guy (Sometimes TOO open), so if you guys have any questions or maybe wanna expand your social life, you guys can comment here, friend me on FB or even follow me on Twitter.  Haha!!

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: Some people don't like Mondays but I'm trying to be optimistic here  ;-)

Manchester Is Red!

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, y'all!!

2 matches.  Both were very unsettling and butt-numbing.  I'll start with the earlier one.........

Malaysia drew 1-1 against Thailand in the 1st leg of the tie of the AFF Suzuki Cup semi-final in Bukit Jalil a few hours ago.  To me, Harimau Malaya dominated the 1st half.  The Thai goal looked shaky and they only got a few shots.  Eventually about 10 minutes in the 2nd half, Bukit Jalil shook as Mahali crossed the ball into the box for Norshahrul Idlan Talaha a.k.a Mat Yo to head in.  The Tigers looked a bit drained if you asked me. In the last 15-20 minutes, Thailand found the equalizer from a header.  I gotta admit, it was a pretty good goal.

In the dying minutes.  Malaysia did get some chances from Safee Sali and Mat Yo but the keeper was quick to react on Safee's header and Norshahrul failed to capitalize.  A hard fought match and the result is good.  We conceded so it'll be tough for the 2nd leg.  Tough but sure as hell not impossible.  You made us proud, lads!!

Now, to what I've been looking forward to for a long time...........

Manchester United beat Man city 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium and shatter their 30-something match unbeaten run at home.  The last time city lost at home soil was in 2010 against the toffees (Everton).  Full of drama and some blood was spilt.

Even in the first few minutes, things already began  to seem frisky.  Players flying with their feet, making wild challenges.  city were controlling the ball for a while.  Then United got the ball for the counter attack.  Young took the ball down the left flank and slid the ball to Rooney outside the box.  Rooney's finish was a bit unclean but he struck it for the 1-0 lead in the 16th minute.

Before the half-hour mark, Rooney strikes again as Rafael squared the ball to him to lead 2-0.

After half-time, Tevez came in.  Once quite of an icon at Old Trafford, now public enemy #1 for all Man United fans (Google it).  Robin van Persie (RVP) chipped the city goalkeeper and it hit the bar, just nice for Ashley young to pick up and score.  The flag was up for offside.  Replays showed that it wasn't offside and linesmen once again show how incompetent they can be.  Few seconds after the disallowed goal Yaya Toure netted city's 1st.  United seemed shaky and they paid the price as an unmarked Zabaleta took advantage of a volley and scored the equaliser within the last 10-15 minutes.

Both sides were desperate for a win.  Tevez clipped Rafael's leg near the edge of Joe Hart's left side of the penalty side.  RVP territory.  90 minutes gone.  4 minutes of added time.  RVP shoots and SCOOOOOORES!!!!

It took a slight deflection off of Samir Nasri's shin but a goal's a goal.  We'll take it.  As United were celebrating, a bloody city fan threw a 2 P (pence which is the equivalent of sen in the UK) coin at Rio Ferdinand at the corner of his left eye.

Towards the end Tevez lashed out on Phil Jones as Jones blocked him.  Tevez showed his frustration in front of Sir Alex Ferguson.  That ungrateful Argentine t**t.  In the end, Manchester United showed those so call "Citizens" what real champions are made of.

Not only that, this also proved some things.

To those who aren't savvy about this, look it up.  Those noisy neighbours are just so bloody pretentious.

Next point, just cos an Arab Sheikh bought the club and you're loaded doesn't mean you can roll with the big boys.  And another thing...........

I think I've made myself pretty clear.  Oh wait..ONE MORE............

There's only ONE UNITED!!  Glory glory Man United!

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: The word 'city' I didn't 'capital' the 'C' for reasons usually united fans know.  Needless to say, I did it on purpose.

Football Fever

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, everyone!!

Well, here I am at my house for the past few days.  For all of you guys' information, I've been down with a fever since my last post which was last Saturday.  I'm a suspect for dengue and I've been in and out of my college's health centre and lately I've been to DEMC, taking blood samples.  Getting better but I'm still doing blood tests.  Just a pre-caution I guess.  Enough about me.  Let's get to what the weekends are for....

Football pandemonium in the country.  1st of all, we got the AFF Suzuki Cup with the defending champions, our country, Malaysia, taking on Thailand.  1st and 2nd leg.  So I guess if we screw up the 1st leg (not saying that we will), we still have the 2nd leg to fightback.  The 3-0 loss to S'pore in the group stage was just a set back.  A 4-1 win against Laos and 2-0 win against Indonesia.  I'd say that we're on a role...........

Norshahrul Idlan Talaha a.k.a Mat Yo in action against Laos

Mahalli celebrates after scoring against Indonesia
I, like the rest of the nation I'm sure, wish the National team the best of luck in the tie......

Go Tigers!!
Now, next to the 2nd biggest fixture this weekend (debatable)............

The Manchester derby.  The most anticipated match-up of the season.  Last season, United lost the title to their noisy neighbours just because of a last gasp goal during the last match of the season where City went against QPR.  What can I say?  I guess when QPR found out that they weren't relegated, they decided to stop playing and let City win.  Manchester City was nothing before this and they just won the league last season and they think they're ready to roll with the big boys.  Come on, guys.  Be more realistic.  Manchester United is the most famous football club in the world and Sir Alex Ferguson is the most successful manager in Britain.  Only one Manchester club rules football and most importantly.......

THERE'S ONLY ONE UNITED!!
Say what you want about Manchester United.....

I think I have a picture I can use to make all those so call Citizens shut up............

Man United's trophy cabinet
Now all of you "Citizens" can just SUCK IT!!

Well, I gotta rest.  Stay awesome, people!!

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: When I went to Old Trafford earlier this year, the tour guide said the current cabinet was full and they were waiting for a new one :-P

1st Weekend

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, peeps!!

It's my 1st weekend not going back home.  Tomorrow I got a tennis match against UKM in Bangi.  It's just a friendly tennis match.  Nothing intense.  I've been missing out on a lot of matches and selections to represent UTM.  There'll just be the 4 of us going instead of the usually almost 10 and above but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.

It's al most been a week but I really miss this little kid...................

Ariq!!!  Pak Su love you very-very strong!!  Haha!!  I really wanna go to London again next year if I get the chance.

I also miss this little guy................

Kaisan!!  Pak Su loves you alsoooo!!

XDDD

I just love playing with them.  Usually after a week of stressful studying and what not, I'd go home and play with him if Kaisan and his parents come down to my house.  I love babies!!  Makes sense since I'm the youngest.  Hehe..

Well, gotta go train for tomorrow's friendly match.  I love playing in the morning.

See you guys on the flip side!!

P.S: My back hurts cos of the crappy bed in my hostel T____T"
