The Special Juan

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalamu'alaikum, y'all!!

It's been quite a while since my last update.  I've been quite busy and distracted lately.

Some of you might know that there are always things that are 'trending' on the internet.  Especially on Twitter, with the hashtags and what not.  Well me, being a true Red Devil fan, can't pass this chance to do an update about our latest and not to mention record signing, Juan Mata.

Juan Manuel Mata Garcia, commonly known by football fans as Juan Mata, signed for Manchester United last week after an agreement with Chelsea.  He's now United's record-signing with a price tag of 37.1 million pounds.  He fell out of Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho's favour, as the Chelsea boss picked Oscar over Juan Mata.  Man United boss, David moyes, said that he knew the deal can be done.  Mourinho a.k.a The Special One did say that he have regrets on the Mata transfer but he still respects him and wished him all the best.  Even Frank Lampard said:

"Juan Mata is absolutely a fantastic player, but more than that he's an absolutely great lad and we wish him all the best personally."

Personally, I think Mata is a great addition to United's ammunition especially looking at how the season is going for them.  Out of the FA Cup and defeated by Sunderland in a dramatic semi-final league cup tie, Juan Mata might just lift the spirits of not only the fans but also the players.

Here are some pictures starting from his arrival at the Carrington training ground until the unveiling of Mata's shirt number about an hour ago.....

Looking sharp, Juan!

These pictures were taken ahead of Mata's medical tests.  Sure enough, he passed with flying colours.  Haha!

Pen and paper.  The only thing that  'MATA'

He's an official Red
There was some talk about him getting the iconic no. 7 jersey.  To be honest, I'm not really sure if he can actually live up to the shirt.  THE shirt....

He's taking Anderson's shirt

We'll always remember you, Anderson.  Hehe.

On the shirt number, Mata had this to say:

"8 is a great number.  I know 7 is iconic here.  We decided 8 is good for me.  Hopefully it'll bring me luck."

Man United will face Cardiff City on Wednesday morning at 3.40 am.  United welcome Cardiff who grabbed a point when the Reds came to Cardiff last time out with a 2-2 scoreline.  All United fans, me included, are hoping that Mata can get his start.  With Rooney and RVP sure to play, it'll be a good game to watch.

It will also be a great homecoming moment for Manchester United legend and Cardiff City manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer....

One of the greatest icons in Manchester United
The baby-faced assassin who was a big part of United's history and in the treble winning squad will surely get a warm welcome from the fans.  Seems a bit early but....Welcome back, Ole!

This might be a great turnaround for United.  We'll see.

See you guys on the flip side!!
